In 2014 the Gan HaYeled created a Virtual Reality Room. A multimedia system mounted on the ceiling projects onto the floor a virtual playground. A wide array of games and special effects generate a dynamic virtual reality environment, which includes musical instruments, sports activities, learning games and social interactions.
These fun activities are conducted for both therapeutic treatments and leisure time recreation. By engaging in motoric play, the children activate all parts of their body, even while sitting. They learn to respond to sounds and colors, expand their general knowledge and improve their social skills.
The activities can be adapted to the unique physical, emotional and learning needs of each child. They can cater to different ages, levels of difficulty as well as different size groups up to 21 children.
The Virtual Reality Room is used round the clock throughout the year.
