Therapy using plants has always been one of the occupations which provide calm, peace and a sense of creativity. For people with special needs working with plants is a simple and entertaining activity which allows self-expression and contributes to the participants pride and self-esteem thereby gaining appraisal and attention.
Gan Hayled’s outdoor garden has a shaded work station where the children can plant seedlings in planting boxes. We practice normal garden activities divided into small tasks and hope that in the future the children can use the knowledge and tools acquired either as a hobby or for employment. Children with higher mental abilities are exposed to simple research processes and learn in a hands-on manner about natural environments.
